may try different props,
whats the x-dim ? are spacers easy to fit?
need to go and have another play mess around with tabs drives ect.
so hard hole shot is:
.. tabs fully down drives fully down floor it then lift tabs up once planning?
or tabs down, drives midway wait till the bow get out a bit then drives back down and tabs up once planning
wish i never sold the baja hammer if it had a wind screen it would have usable for distance this would have ruined the look thou.

Audiofn - there will be nothin left but some broken chromed parts below a electronic engine bay cover by the time i've finished testing them to destruction. Thats the usual result when buying a crazy toy, it all end in tears and expense or hospital. But those blowers may look cool on my bedroom wall like a trophy.
They sound like they are gonna blow any minute in fact i don't feel very safe on this boat.

311 - Great boat.
At WOT your boat will burn more than 60 gallons/hr. But, you don't have to run it all the time. Most of us cruise on just the primary's, and probably only burn 30-40 gallons/hour. The main land should not be too far once the leak is patched. Many in South Florida boat to the Bahamas. Install a flow scan fuel meter and you'll have a much better idea of your consumption.
You stated wake boarding: that is usually just the opposite of high speed drives and engines. You may want a second set of props for wake boarding, in addition to your props for high speed.
But, it does sound like your drives may be high, and your props may be old technology that blow out easily.
Lastly, don't trust AudioFn with your engines, he won't treat them right... like I would! I think Merc is working on a diesel engine, and since you have transmissions, many other's might work for you. That's an interesting thought that pops up here every few months.
Good luck.

Drive all the way down/in (as close to the transom as possible, so the aft end of the prop shaft is actually pointing down slightly toward the ocean floor way behind behind the boat)
Tabs down somewhat to all the way. All the way may be much more than you need, but you'll get the hang of it.
DON'T hammer the throttle during a hole shot. Ease the throttle to save your drive train.

Chart cheers for the advice;
the boat doesn't get out the hold like it should i'm sure. the 4 blade props seem in mint condition really sharp. not sure what brand they are.
The grip great upto 10 mph and then just blow like theres no water left to tug on when they eventually do grip after 30 seconds of 5000 they grip at a speed of only 11-12 mph weird. Its like a time lag of 30 sec for no reason.
What sort of a job is it to fit spacers to the drives to make them lower and by how much 1" 2"? someone suggested swapping the the props over port to starboard? maybe they meant swap the drives over.

You need to be careful swapping props. Some drives are okay with it, and others will break fast. I don't know about your drives, but someone on here will.
If you just swap props, remember your gear shifters will work backwards. fwd will be reverse and reverse will be fwd.
Please do get pictures of your transom and post them, best with the drive straight down, also known as neutral, where the prop shaft is parallel to the hull.
Also get a picture of your prop.
Don't know how big a job spacers are, but don't think too much.

To get up on plane, try to just run the throttles up to 3000 rpm. Running them faster will only cause cavitation and eventual pitting of the prop blades. My 272 with 454's and my current 336 with HP500's would just cavitate like crazy if I go much higher than 3000 to start out. I really don't know how long it would take to plane if I just went WOT from a standstill because I never had the guts to listen to the overreving and cavitating for very long. Drives all the way down, tabs maybe 1/4 to 1/2 way down and ease it up on plane. Once she's on top of the water, trim out the drives and experiment with the tabs to get the bow out of the water and you should be all set. And you will probably save some fuel too.
