Do you think it would be better overall to paint the entire boat, or remove the stripes and buff the original gelcoat out? I don't know which would be best.

good thing that was Warranty work !!!

Mike, I've gotten quotes ranging from 5K to 8K..not including any "repairs".

Also, start Bad News at least once a week. When a boat just sits, is when things start going funky. Trust me I KNOW.....

Russ, all the money is in the prep. Trust me, you could spray it yourself. Post a "before" pic for me.

Nice man, looks good where you take the paint off, for a really good shine I suggest that you wet sand all the way up to 1000-1200 grit, ive done alot of wet sanding, sanding all the way down to really shining chrome on a "goped" that I have and its worth it if you go all the way up to the 1000 grits.

Good luck man!

I've done a chitload of "metal" polishing, mostly on bikes. I'd read somewhere that on FG 600 was as far down as you really had to go. But I'm really "psycho" so I might take it down to 1800 for all I know. Then I'll end up doing the whole boat. Or paint it. Or whatever.

Fred, for better or worse, you are a giant part of the reason the transom is coming out good. I am so psyched. Now if only Santa would bring me some polished trim tabs with my favorite suppliers logo on it. I need to talk to you about "tie bars". I'll call you tomorrow. I emailed you a little while ago.
