Default anyone put extension boxes on with bravo's?

Was wondering if I would gain any speed or a better ride if I put extension boxes on a 38ft non step bottom fountain with bravo's ?

I have a 35 with boxes ,but have a stepped hull. I am in the process of trying shorties also to see what gains. I like the boxes and think there is some pros , but I would call BoB Teaque and ask him about them. He runs them on his boat But has done some thing with the boxes that is a little different. give him a call.

I have a friend with a 1988 non-stepped 38 fever with big power. He spent about 20K installing boxes on his boat and said it may have picked up 1 mph. Said it was the worst money he ever spent on his boat.

I think that if they made the boat go faster and handle better Reggie would have put them on from the factory.

Goodt, What other changes have you done to your 42 to get 97 ? I run with one every week end and it will do a true 82 all day. 97 seems a litle high, with 525efi. and a 35 with 525efi 2005 88 mph.

the poker run has custom props ...no bottom end but one hell of a top end very very fast for 525s keep in mind that the cabin is raw fiberglass excect for balast tanks will say its one hell of a ride!!!!!!

Test report on my 05 42X is 87...if I could get the dam gps to work I'll get 88 somehow. 525s

Not having a cabin would be awesome. I can envision pounding the living hell out of her. With the full cabin, I try to take it easy (most of the time )

the trick is that it is proped for top end ( 6 blade herring props ) along with being a bit lighter

I was at the factory when the 42 poker run boat was being built. Had the seats in my hand and looked the boat over good , but I could not take any pics. They are one nice boat, and with 6 blades and less weight it should run.
