Blown xr again i have a 29 with a 575 I've had the boat for a year first boat gone through 4 or 5 . boat runs left hand rotation . Switched to right hand this summer worked well until last week locked up comming out of a no wake zone .
i take it easy comming out of the hole may have come out the water at about 4000rpms but i dropped the throttle a little late . anyway out of warranty so now it's my dime imco sc was recomended anybody have any suggestions on a drive that will end the break downs

1 make sure you shift the drive at the lowest RPM's as possible
2 also put a labbed prop on it, its the same principle as a balanced tire
3 kill the throttle when in the air, future advice on your next drive, i have learned the hard way myself. tom

I had 2 IMCO SC's on a 35 Fountain behind 2 whippled 540's both drives lasted about 40 hrs. They were rebuilt by a local guy in MD and lasted 100 hrs. He bought the boat from me and broke them in 10 after owning it. Oh, buy the way, good luck in getting IMCO to fix it. No warrenty. One broke the upper gear set. Idle to high, about 850 rpm. One broke a lower gear set. Go Mecury, or Teague Platnium. Max Machine make a good drive also. IMCO would be my last choice!!

I Have An Imco Extreme Upper I'm Rebuilding For Sale Will Put A One Yr Warranty On It Has About 15min On It Was Run With Out Oil For About 5min Because National In There Ultimate Wisdom Decided To Put Extensions On The Drive And Forgot To Refill It....waiting For Parts But Can Be Ready First Of The Week.
