Re: 35 Ex / single step lightning
Just bought a 95 35 this year and my first outing was caught in a monsoon...the water just kept coming and my bilges could barely keep up. It was a couple weeks before I managed to get the thing dry by backing it down a loading dock and pulling the plug. Then I kept getting water in, but discovered it was a leak around the exhaust outlets...every time I sit on anchor and its wavy, I get a constant trickle...enough that in about 4 hours time it kicks my float switches! I've also got loose deck rails which dampens the berth when uncovered...plus it gets in the head where it can't breathe and creates mold on the carpet. In other words...a whole lot of sealing is going to happen this winter! I HATE wet bilges...my Powerquest never had a drop in over three years...why is it such a problem with Fountain?

Fountains are a lower freeboard boat, so they sit low in the water, get those exhaust tip water leaks fixed so it does not hurt your transom

Re: 35 Ex / single step lightning
Interesting post. My automatic sensor buned out one day and I almost took the pump out of my 00 38 lightning. It still has dust from manufacturing. It is kept outside, but I have the nose as high enough to back the truck up underneath it. My anchor locker has its own thru-hull dump. How about the ac thru-hull as a potential?
I only get water in the bilge if it rains hard - suspect the side air intakes. I would also try putting a check valve on the bilge pumps.
