Need help with exhaust...........
#1
I currently have a pair of CMI Big tube straight backs."8 years old".......Its time to replace them....CMI will not make me new ones. To many problems with water reversion. What options are out their without being Dry? and won't break my pocket book. Do I have options other than changing the current transom? Thanks, Tom

Tom, I would go back to the old way and re-glass the swim platform and run the pipes back under the swim platform.
You'll be happy and so will your ears! Let me know if you need anything.

If you have enough room between the top of the inner transom plate and the bottom of the swim step we might be able to modify the tails to exit much lower, and improve the downward angle of the tail. Another option might be to turn out the front engine tails and or headers (what we call bat wing style) similar to the current large engine Fountain factory headers.

now I am on the right track............Heath @ Trick Marine said I could not get those headers duplicated. After seeing the pictures what are your thoughts?
my priority
1) don't break my pocket book
2) I don't want a dry appliction
3) If possible don't change the transome
With that being said, I beleive my current issues with water revesion, have been from the age of my current headers. Thats what you guys told me in July 05. That the water was comming from the welds at high temp. They are 8 years old, that makes sense to me. Thanks, for the help....Tom
