The new 2006 Cigarette 39 Top Gun w/ 1075's (retail $846,208.00) runs 117.5mph in this months Powerboat Magazine, what did the 2005 Fountain 42 with 1075's do..(125mph) and the retail price was around $650,000.00

I am a Nor-Tech, Fountain, Cigarette & Outerlimits fan and MTI's, Skaters and Spectre's.

It's ALL about the deal...........

Maybe a better question is.....

How many of you BOUGHT a Fountain because you WANTED one, then Reggie dropped prices and you tried to sell the one you bought? (I hope this won't overload the server...)

I always wanted one and bought one. I'm glad I did. Best boat for the money we had to spend, and I actually got more boat with the Fountain.

One thing to note is there isn't much talk about 27-32. More about 35-42. Different aspects. 27-32, Fountain is a great value. Comes stock with good power....back when I was shopping, no Fountains I saw had 7.4 efi power, only 454 or 502 mags and up, hyd steering, k-planes, etc. when many competitors boats were cheaper, but not rigged with the equipment. BY the time you optioned out "cheaper boats", you were not that far off a Fountain. Sure, get into $250k 38'+ plus boats and they aren't rigged as nicely as some others. But let's talk about the common folk boats....and they are a great boat for the money, if you ask me.

I'm glad we bought one, because we have two more additions to our family and we'll need a larger boat than a Fountain when we eventually get back out on the water. Of course, if I can't sell if for a decent price, I may always own a Fountain But if it's gone, I can always say I had one. And it will be a long long long time before it's just the two of us for a boat lacking room.

And someone pointed out the ride factor. Sure, they don't ride as well in the rough as some non stepped boats built for rougher waters, but I can run more tab than another boat and still hang next to it at the same speed with a more efficient hull (same power). Bottom line if ride is a factor, best thing to do is buy older and longer for your budget.
