Also, the 29 in stock configuration is not a great overnighter.......I made some filler cushions and basically can make the entire cabin into a huge bed.....Im 6'2" and could never sleep in the stock V berth......go lay in it before you buy......Im going to remove the stock dinette with the icebox and sink (that Ive never used) in the future also......just have simple facing lounges on that side......free up some wieght and make some more room.....doug

Here's the update on the 2 boats. The 29' Fever sold this morning. I called the seller on the 1992 35' Lightning to set up a demo ride. I offered to pay for the gas and asked if I could bring a handheld gps to see what the top speed is. The seller said he never runs it wide open and he wasn't going to risk tearing up his boat with no money on the table. He knows the boat better than anyone so if he had doubts about the engines/drives holding together than this isn't the boat for me. I called him back and canceled the ride. Also the boat has cable steering, not hydraulic. Total fuel capacity was only 160 gal. I'm going to keep looking. Thanks for the good suggestions.

How good of a deal is this one? 2002 Lightning 35' for $115k. Listed in the boat trader online.

It's a consignment boat. The ex-Fountain dealer in Charlotte NC has it. The windscreen looks different on this boat compared with other 2002 Lightnings. Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

That's one of them there Executioners. They used to call them lightnings but no more. Depending on the hours and conditon, that appears to be a very good deal. New ones are selling for $150K with 496's.

Getting "in and out" of a boat is costly....wait until you can get the boat you want for the next 5-10 yrs...
....I take a lot of heat for waiting but have a new business going...so until there is room for the 42' Fountain I am waiting...
