Fountain began to spin the props inward once they went to the step bottom hull design in 95. if the 2000 is spinning outward i would think that whoever had it before switched them to make it easier to dock and wasn't worried about losing the couple miles an hour topend.

Did spinning outward make it easier to dock or better at speed?

Question Re: prop rotation

spinning out will make it a lot easier to dock but you will lose top end speed. different feeling running at cruise speed, i guess a more solid feel might be the best way to describe it. i think because the props spinning out offer a wider drive force with a little less lift then when spinning in the drive wash is going against each other offering more lift to the hull.

My docking, in reverse particularly, improved 100x with them spinning out. I noticed no change in top end, and boat felt much more in control also. When spinning in, it felt very light and on the edge at times.

I changed my 98 35, to spin outward.
