So at 90 mph will the wind chill factor be in the 30s? It is 85 down here and humid as crap so maybe that will be fun for the day.

Do you think I should have someone come do a survey on the boat? I was reading that someone was having a survey done on a Forumula they were looking at. I have never bought a used boat. Is the survey usually done on older boats or should one be done on a 1 year old boat with 50 hours on it? Mike

Thanks. I agree that trusting someone from across the country that I have not met is hard. I have read so many positive comments about the dealership that I feel pretty comfortable with the purchase.

Great ride and a great deal. Just understand one thing, this boat by far is superior to your other boat in two ways,

first - performance
second - maintenance, fuel, insurance, dock fees, etc...

Dont get me wrong, if you can swing it and its worth it to you, GO FOR IT. Great boat and I know you will enjoy.

first-performance. I can't stop thinking about this part of it.
second- Maintenance, I don't think it will be to much worse than now. The more frequent oil changes will just be a wash since I won't be burning $40-$70 in oil every time I use the boat. Fuel at 60mph is better than the old boat. Above 60mph, well this is the cost I will pay to join that club. Insurance is the worst of it, went from $2100 to $8300. Luckily no increase in dock fees since the boat is kept behind the house. It will cost me some money to adjust the bunks.

Well the weather looks great. Sunny and 70 degrees. I can not go to sleep even though my alarm is set for 3:30am. It's the x-mas eve night feeling you get when you were a kid. Thanks for all the answers to my many questions everyone. I will try to take some pictures. Mike

Could not have asked for a nicer day. The day was sunny and 70 degrees. The boat was everything Scott said it was. Scott has a beautifull facility that was jam packed with all kinds of boats. So the boat ran like he said it would so I bought it. :evilb: I also do not recommend flying that far and back in the same day. The boat drives very easily at 65-70 mph which I thought would be nice cruise speed for that boat.The boat should be down in Florida by this weekend if everything goes okay with my lift guy resetting my lift up. There was another nice gentleman tha came for a ride that was hoping I did not buy it so he could buy it. I guess he called last week after I had already been talking to Scott. He is local, so I have to thank Scott for not selling the boat before I got a chance to look at. I think he is going to buy the all white 47 that Scott has. I have to tell you that the entire buying process was very easy thanks to Scott. I had never bought a bought from accross the country before so it was kind of weird. Thanks for all the support and info everyone has provided on here. Now that I actually will own a performance boat I will sure be asking allot of questions. Thanks Mike

They are Herrings but I'm not sure of the pitch. When the boat is light it is banging the limiters so there is a new set on order. Hopefully we should see them in a week or so. I can get you the numbers and let you know what works best. The boat has run 92 but right now it seems to be stuck in the high 80's-possibly because the props have flattened a little and lost some cup. I'll tell you though, even with the six blades the center engine really doesn't bite till about 70-75, I guess it's just the way a trip boat is.

Let me know what you find out. I would rather not drop $6000 and not have the boat pick up anymore speed. I saw 90 yesteray on Lake Michigan in my boat (sounds weird to say that), well almost my boat. I am thinking down here in salt water I will pick up 1 or 2 mph.Your boat looks nice. Do you have any pictures of it from the side? Mike

Congrats on the new boat, Mike. :evilb: I know you're gonna love it. I wanted to drive up on monday atleast to get to meet you, but I had a 3 oclock appointment at a bodyshop that I could'nt blow off. And I knew once we started talkin boats, I'd be late for sure. :(

I wish it was mine, unfortunately I am just rope monkey/riding mechanic on that ride. I'll look for some pics, but since my buddy had the arch taken off I don't think many pics have been taken. It's got the flag graphics in blue with silver accents. I'll get all the numbers for you and let you know what happens with the new Herrings. Art Lilly does all the work on this boat and is working on the dial in-it will be spot on. Well, until he goes to 600's next year :D :D

I am not that worried since I only have 525s. I will try to keep most of the boat in the water so as not to piss of the bravo gods. :D

No problem. The shop is incredible. While I was there they got a new 2007 47 with triple 600s, ITS, and herrings props. It runs 100 mph. Very nice ride. I got lucky with the weather for the one day I was there.

Thanks , they are leaving in the morning so I can have the boat on Friday morning. To bad the lift can not be moved until Wednesday. They have to move the poles back so I do not stick out into my neighbors property. The boat will have to sit in the water for 6-7 days. I feel bad doing that to the boat but I have no choice. I will probably use the boat at least 4 of the 7 days so it should be okay. So hopefully nothing will try to grow on the boat.

No, this boat has always been blue. It was owned by Mike Sanz for a year and was pace boat for some FPC poker runs and some races-including Key West in 04-it used to have big yellow FOUNTAIN on the sides.

Thanks. Yes they all did a great job for me and I can not wait for the boat to get here. I called the driver today at 2:00 pm and he was in Tennessee. Said he should get to Florida border late tonight and be at my house Thursday evening. So looks like Friday morning as soon as the sun is up we will be launching the boat. The Sea Rays, snailboats, and other cruiser people in my development are going to love this boat. :evilb: There is one Apache with twin 525s a couple of streets over and that is it for performance boats. A couple of nice Fountain fishboats in there also. But as of right now this boat will be the fastest boat in there.

Yes we took out today for a nice 89 mph jaunt thru Tampa Bay which only had about 2 footers today.
I think they sold your boat. A gentleman came out on my test ride. He had called Scott about my boat last week, but Scott told him I was coming up on Monday. So he came along for the ride and after I bought it that day he was negotiating with Scott about your boat. Good luck with the new one. So far I am very happy with the 47, I can not wait until we get some 4-5 footers in the bay. What props did you have on your boat? I think this boat needs bigger props. Thanks

Have not played around with it yet. Only drove it 5 miles home from the ramp. I had the tabs set at 2 and the drives were at 3. But at those setting the boat would bounce off the limiter, so I am thinking there is so room with the props. So you must be getting the maximus props. I would be curious how the boat responds to those props. Also the boat is full of gas since we topped off on street prices for the last time :( .

Try Your Tabs At 2.5 And Just Move The Trim A Little It Took Me A Little Time To Get Every Mph Out Of It But Every Time It Is Diffrent,my Opinion Is Stay With The Props You Have I Spent Money And Time And Had No Results The Only Way To Get A Big Gain Is Go With Six Blades I Will Keep You Posted Scott Is Trying All 3 Sets On The New Boat Next Week Cant Wait To Hear The 525's Rumble Next Week Feel Free To Give Me A Call
