stereo install on 35 ex
#4
The stereo is a standard din unit and should have come with the "keys" to remove it in the bag with the manuals, test sheet, etc. Just insert the keys on each side of the unit and it should pull out of the bulkhead with no problem. You will then be able to access the antenna and other wiring. The antenna is usually the windshield frame or front railing and that is most likely where the problem lies. You may have a problem with the unit itself, all you need to do is stick a bare ended wire about 36" long into the hole where the antenna plug goes and check your reception, if it cures the problem you have to track down where the plug end is grounded to the windshield or rail and see what gives. Good luck!

My stereo antenna is a regular auto antenna that is up under the passengers side gunnel. Should be able to pull the stereo out to check your connections as gferdon stated.
I mounted my VHF radio in the side so I could hear it and have it convienent.
