Default How to Bring 35' Down

Ok, I have new engines and I am into uncharted territory as far as my driving goes. The boat is running great, so this weekend I found some light chop, lifted the tabs and trimmed it out. Handled like it was on rails............except when I tried to bring it back down. It started to chime pretty badly as I decreased speed. Is there a certain way to do this?

Does it have External steering or internal?? you could have a loose steering ram if internal or cable it will stay good while the power is on and walk side to side when not

It has external steering, Latham. Fountains version of it. I thought that I need to start trimming it down prior to letting off too much on the throttles. Or, maybe put my tabs down a little?

just don't pull back on the sticks so fast, & trim the drives down a bit as you ease the throttle's back. BTW what did you get her up to??

trim it a bit before bringing back the throttles. If it is non-step do the drives, if it is a step bottom boat tuck in the tabs. You won't have to very much at all, just a bit to sttle the hull in. Hope that helps.

Thanks for your help. I was running about 5700-5800 rpm, tabs up, trimmed out quite a ways, with 29 hydromotives. I saw 91 on the gps.

I'm not playing with the props yet, because I'd like shortie drives next year. I'm still hopeful that I'll find a little more speed.

I'd still like to know what happened to that 35 that rolled. Was it a classic or twin step?
