2004 38' Lightning or 42 2005 42' EX
Both have 525's and are selling at Shogren Performance. They are great guys as I bought my first "offshore" boat from them. One question is wich boat has more headroom in the cabin and wich boat will handle big water better? My only experience with "offshore" boats is my 05 30' Baja Outlaw. Nice boat but time to get gigger and nicer. What are your comments in reference from Fountain, 37' Active Thunder, and 38' Top Gun years from 95 - 99 Ciggerette? I am looking at all these models. Thanks!

Fountain will have the shortest cabin headroom...low profile to the water.
42 is the best hull Fountain ever built. Stay as new as you can afford, you'll enjoy the boat more than breaking and fixing every other time out.

If you have the option, go with the 42. If you don't, once you drive one, you'll wish that you did.
