Default Lower reccomendations

I recently purchased an 88 Fever 27 with twin 330hp/bravos. Would I benefit from shortened lowers? If so how much, 1", 2". I currently run the old (88) stock bravos w/ nosecones spinning 25 pitch quicksilver/mirages @ 4500rpms to about 67 mph on the dream-o-meter. I will be months before I can get on the water again.
What would be the most economical way to go lower wise? Like most I'm on a limited budget. Please help, I'd like to get this done during the slow season. George
