27' 496HO engine compartment room
#1
Do any of you fellow 27' owners find it near impossible to do anything on the front of your 496? I cant even fit a K&N filter in place of the stock flame arrestor. The back seat is an inch and half away. Im worried that a new raylar intake wont fit....let alone a whipple.

Actually went through the bulkhead, and into the wood in the back seat. Then molded a piece of plastic. The plastic was concave so that the pulley would fit, but if someone sat in the middle the pulley wouldnt chew their back up. Also, I had to add a scoop in the sun pad. I think it looks great, but my buddy that did it, did the same thing to his, so he had already danced the dance.

The Raylar 496 kits are designed to fit exactly where a stock 496MAG or HO engine fits including height and length. We have had no known issues to this date with the fit of our kits on any 496's in any engine compartments. We spent a lot of time and money making sure that they would.

Thanks for the PM Ray. Nice to know I can still dump obscene amts of money into the water....and still have a fully functional back seat.
Not sure why this motor is so dam close to the back seat....you think reggie, in his infinite wisdom, would have noticed the back seat and motor were almost one in the same. I guess you side by side guys dont have much easier though. Best of luck, all.
