Navigation / Chart Plotter
I want to put Navigation on my 38'. I only use it in fresh water, but some of the lakes I frequent are a little treacherous for stumps, sand bars, etc. and I want to mark them on my navigation.
Can anyone recommend a good color nav system I can mount above the helm. I'm on a bit of a budget, so nothing too crazy. I'd like to keep it under $1k.
Thanks in advance for the suggestions.

I use a Raymarine RC435i GPS Chartplotter. Color, internal antenna, real simple install. You have to buy a card for it. Look around, eBay or nextag, com for pricing . You should be in for less then a grand. I really like mine, easy to use and read and it's color!
Hope this helps,

Poker,
I went with the Garmin 378. I stay on freshwater and it comes preloaded with the inland lakes and rivers. I've been extremely pleased with it.
Thanks anyway.

I just got a Garmin 545 but I like my older Lowrance 3500C better - you could do much more display customization with it than with the 545. It's about 1/2 the price, too.
