i installed a pop up light before on a Chaparelle.....easiest thing you can do is make yourself a template out of cardboard and make sure the light fits in there...and trace the cut out onto the boat with a greese pencil.....the one i installed didtake a round hole so i cant say if all you need is a hole saw or not......

Got a brand new LED one from Fred at Trick and can't use it...
Brand new, anyone?
3 1/2" holesaw, NO template needed. Center, Drill, Mount.
Simple as that. Don't forget to seal the screw holes.
