New Fountain ad in Powerboat!!!!!!
#171
Sea-Dated usually they are, let me correct myself the fastest V bottom boats.
Unless you're talking about the Worlds last year in Key West, when FOUNTAIN was the fastest boat in the race, lapping the competition.....
I'm not going to get in a pissing match with anybody.
Reggie is doing life his way, and it's working out very well. His boats rock, and I'm glad to be a very small part of his success....
nuff said, let's talk about something else, like the OSS race at LOTO !!!

Viaqua and FastToys,
If your reread this thread, you'll find that I said nothing negative about Fountains. On the contrary, I've praised them throughout. I've been lucky enough to drive a few. I've also driven a Cigarette 38 Top Gun. That, too, was good fortune.
Like many on this site, I am currently boatless. My last boat was a Baja. My first boat was a Boston Whaler. I loved that boat. But despite my love for it, it would have been completely baseless for me to describe it as the "safest, smoothest, best-handling center console." Not because I didn't love it, but because I haven't drive every other center console on the market.
Get it? It's one thing to say "I am proud of my boat and love it." That's factual, for who would know better than you how you feel? But it's another to claim it is the best of its breed, unless you've driven many, many other boats in the class.
As for my "trading barbs" (yes, I'm the first person on this site to do that) with Monstaa, I stated my opinion, again and again, politely and logically. And not once did it diss Fountain. For that, I got static. So yeah, sorry guys, but I bit back. That said, Monstaa, if you feel I was too harsh I am man enough to apologize.
Last thing, Viaqua, post count does not equate to credibility. By that measure, I would have more cred than you and Viaqua and FastToys combined. But of course, I don't believe that and neither should you.
We're all adults. We can discuss, and sometimes discussion will turn to argument. But I think we can all handle it.

Mid 12's? Bolt on Honda's run mid 12's nowdays. The F430 is an 11 second car. The Enzo is very low 11 second car that traps almost 135mph. The new 630 is also a low 11 second car...They can also handle, brake and corner. The 61 vette is archaic, it's not even in the same ballpark as a modern day Ferrari. You have got to be kidding me?
It´s a bout having FUN.
New Ferraris are notwithsaying IMO as everyone can BUY themselves into one just like new Fountains, but still not be fast.
3liter Diesel 4-door W124/123 Mercedeses run low 11´s over here in street trim if it´s speed you want to argue about.
A new Z06 is a 10 second car and wastes any Ferrari at the `Ring with the right driver.
Tom Kristensen did hot lap a Z06 in the ´Ring faster than anyone in a Ferrari yet.
When will you see the light that Corvettes are great cars and the best bang for the buck...like Fountains are that I have to agree.
Now Me Thinks the Corvettes have fared quite ok in LeMans too...
Corvettes might not be anything exotic over there but it´s as exotic as a Ferrari over here and the following is strong(er).
Ferrari's don't need to be modified, they are already fast enough unlike a 61 vette that wil get smoked at a light by a mini van.
A 1968 L-88 still holds the Fastest top speed ever attained by a GT-class car at The Mulsanne straight (that´s Le Mans you know).
An Aqquitance of mine held the the overall for decades in a Gulf-Porsche 917K.
There was even a bronze sign of it there.
So if you want to impress me start with a (Race) Porsche and their sounds handling and sofort.
Now Finland ( the oldest ownersclub of the make is here) and The rest of the Northern Europe is a Porsche country, Corvette being the no2 in following.
Remember Pedro Rodriguez did win everything with a Porsche and died burning inside a Ferrari 512 while my aqquintance tried to save him ( as they we´re co-pilots once).
Ferrari imposible to modify? They are modified all the time! Novitec makes 600 and 700 hp cars. Canepa Motorsports can do anything you want. There are tuner shops all over that modify them.

Still no Cudos from me, as they mostly tune Fiats and Alfa Romeos.
A Top Fuel dragster has an Archaic V8 and 8000 hp and buries one DEEP, a V8 is what you find in a Powerboat too.
I think you should take up (family)sailing as it´s more inline with a Ferrari afficiando IMO.
I've owned plenty of old school muscle cars. They are what they are old school and I can appreciate them for that but they aren't fast, they don't handle and they can't brake.
Ferrari's sound fantastic, nothing better including the V8's and I was just here, the number rated concourso in the world.

( yes the Novitec dealer is also a ex-Ferrari now Maserati-garage..)
And I´ve been to a concours once in my life and other static shows (even american car).
You wouldn´t get me to another anymore even If you´d pay my trip.
What a bunch of...attends there.
I wouldn´t go to a NCRS concours either but say Buick Nationals and I´m game ( I also have a 65 GS ragtop ).
Tell it to Ivan Lendle who drives his 800 rwhp F40 on tracks all around the US. He is also a multi champion Lemans winner. Tell it to the guys who own Shelton Ferrari who campaign a couple cars. In this country we have a huge Ferrari following and we race our cars.

And Yet I have to find him Equal my countryman JJ Lehto or then another Scandinavian by the name of Tom Kristensen regarding LeMans victories or did you talk about the ALMS series only ?
Then put Mika Salo there too (remember the hired gun that once raced something red too?).
Ivan Lendl as a racer is just as good as Teemu Selanne.
I Know you have a huge following of Ferraris.
Who´s Kimi Räikkönen then at least he RACES his Ferrari, we have a somewhat following too...
As a matter of fact I bumped into him this summer on a powerboat pier, funny guy.
I could care less about Shelton et all, I´ve wrenched on tracks like Talladega, Indianapolis Raceway Park etc..get the picture ?
Not any (Pink) handkerchiefs and club jackets there like most of the Ferrari owners dress in.
That´s not what RACERS are just look into the life of Smokey Yunick or Enzo Ferrari.
You need to come out to a real race track like Leguna Seca.
You mean that national level racetrack of yours that you played alot with your playstation and thinks it´s something, well over here it´s nothing special !?
Ever heard of Spa-Francorschamp, Nurburgring or Targa Florio where the abovementioned Aqquintance of mine has the track record standing since 1970, with a PORSCHE?
You might also find Anderstorp,Keimola and especially Ahvenisto (which I´ve lapped and raced plenty) tracks equal to Laguna in profile ( see pic of Ahvenisto below)

No I´ve never been to `Seca but Brickyard and Indy raceway yes and I don´t see anything special about a track in the middle of the sand, there´s another one in Bahrain.
Reggie continually refines his hulls and he uses all his resources to do so. That includes engineers, R@D and lessons he learns from racing. If it's so easy why doesn't everybody do it?
off topic Discussion closed IMO.
Point proven.
