Default Winterization/Oil

Within the next few weeks I will be doing a full winterization on my 525SC's. The question is the oil was just changed and it only has 5.5 hours since the last oil change. Should I change it again or will be fine till next spring. Thanks in advance Scott

Jeff, you would think that, however we do get some cold weather. Oh ya, it will not be in heated storage. I just hate to waste oil that has only 5 hours of use. thanks scott

leave the oil in the motors, change the oil at the begining of the season.that way if any condensation is present from a long winters rest it will be drained out.just my 2cents worth.

you want to change the oil when you winterize it. the hydrocarbons and other contaminates cause the oil to become acidic. acidic oil will etch the babbit off of bearings. ie premature engine wear. food for though.

Default Winter

The attached picture was the only way I could lenghten my boating season. The top is great in the summer. When it is enclosed we can use the boat much later in the season.
It doesn't look that great but it sure is fun.
