Vibration/ On @ Off Plan
#1
Question, I have a small amount of vibration at 1500-2000 RPM when coming on and off of plan. Is this the props or something else. Also this is no vibration at any other time. 42 fountain staggered 525sc/ bravo 28 props. Thanks in advance. Scott

Could be the four blade props, mine did the same with four blade hydros and is now gone with the five blades. Sorry for lack of detail but vibration is no longer and that is the only difference with the boat................

Scott, my 35 shakes a little getting on plane at same RPM. With smaller props it would blow out frequently, and I would have to attempt to get on plane all over again. I believe it is cavitation, or "bullet slip" when this occurs. (the props seem to be slipping, than hooking up, over again until on plane.
I have found using tabs to get on plane eliminates it. Carder

Later, I'am using bravo props now. Maybe vibration is not the correct term, it more like a shutter or a chadder. It's really no big deal I just wanted to make sure it was not something wrong with the drives or gimble housing. thanks again scott

My 35 with four blade Bravos does that, too. Thought maybe might be having a gimble bearing issue, but no problems. Sounds like maybe something to do with the Fountain bottoms?? Happening with different props on different size boat... mine does it with tabs, too. Have noticed if I throttle through it a little faster, it's not as prevalent. But I also don't want to overload the drives while baby-ing it up...
