Default Sun pad restoration

Fountain wants 2k to stitch me up new sunpad vinyl with the number in the hatch and I have to have an upholstery guy install it! 2k for vinyl??? Is this rediculous? There has to be a better option. Any Ideas?

I replaced the cockpit interior including sunpad last winter for about a third what the factory quoted me......it is a nuts price.

Maybe i was lucky but the guy that did mine had the vinyl codes for each year of Fountain, apparently they changed suplliers a couple of time and also had the stitch patterns, turned out great. I think I am little to far for you to drop your boat off though...... lol

There must be someone else in your area that would have the same, good luck;

I HAD THE AREA MARINE UPHOLSTERY GURU MAKE A SHORTY COVER FOR MY 35L DASH. THIS IS ONE OF THE BIGGER AND BETTER MARINE UPHOLSTERY COMPANIES IN THE GALVESTON BAY AREA. WHEN HE SAW THE SUN PAD WITH THE FOUNTAIN INSIGNIA AND THE #35 STICHED THROUGH IT HE SAID "GOOD LUCK WHEN THE TIME COMES TO GET THAT REPLACED, MAN-O-MAN PLEASE DONT CALL ME!" GEE THANKS

What kind of cover did you have made. Does it just cover the gauges?

There is a ton of stitching and peices. That's what you are paying for.

It still sounds crazy though. Is there any alternatives that any of you can think of ? I am upgrading dash to Monster style this year as well as rebuilding my 500s so I may not have the extra scratch to do it but it needs to be addressed.

If I have the extra $$ over the winter i'm going to have the rear pad and rear seats done all white.

it's not worth the $$ spent on the fancy patterns on a 1991 boat. It'll look good all white, i like the clean look anyway.

My sun pad is still in great shape with the 35 across the hatches. I was hoping for some scoops and fiberglassing the deck, but the wife isn't happy with that!
