Headroom in 47 Lightning
#1
Wife says the next boat she has to be able to stand up in (5'8").
What is the head room around the galley area. I have been all over Fountains site
and to no avail.
Otherwise I have to start looking at cruisers.
Thanks

In a 47 lightning I can stand straight up in the galley area in front of the bathroom without my head touching and having a couple of inches to spare. I am 5ft 8in tall. I would estimate that at the front of the lounge area you have about 5ft3in to stand in. Unless your wife is 5-10 to 6ft you will be fine.

I'm 5'11" and there is no way I could stand straight up anywhere in the cabin of any of the 47 lightning models I looked at. That's the primary reason I bought a 47 Sport Cruiser. I get claustrophobic not being able to stand up.

I am 5'8" and I cannot stand up anywhere below in a Fountain 47 Lightning post 2000 model year. The headroom outside the head door is 5'6". The headroom inside the head is less, but I don't remember how much less.
Oddly enough, if the hatches were not "flush" and the headliner was installed so it followed the deck, instead of going straight across, then the headroom is 5'10".
I made several requests to the factory to change how they do the headliner in order to get standing headroom below, and they have refused.
Therefore, I do not own a 47 Fountain Lightning.
