Most likely Shogren's boat does not have the 7" stand off boxes. And I am not sure if the original staggered 35's had the shorty lower units. We were told at the factory that the 525's dyno at over 540 h.p. when using 87 octane gas. And, not as much with high test gas. It is a low compression motor that actually builds more h.p. on the lower octane gas. Also, existing conditions always plays a part in how fast a boat will run on any given day. Temperature, humidity, props etc. Maybe the 600's will handle the extra weight better than the 525's. That would be logical but logic does not always become reality with high performance boats.

The Shogren boat does not appear to have the boxes, or the Merc ITS, but does have the Sportmaster shorties. 106 does seem a little lite for the 600 SCI set up, but then props may be out of the box and not quite right yet. It's still fast on stock power.

Have you considered going to 1.50's on yours? I had a Velocity 32 w/525 SC's years ago that we played the gear ratio game with, it was a few mph faster with the 1.36's but the mid-range acceleration and ability to carry a load was far better with the 1.50's. In the end I opted for the 1.50's and the better overall performance, my feeling was the acceleration was more fun than the extra couple on the high end. Just a thought.

The twin step 35's are a super hull, I'm real impressed with the '06 w 525's I just picked up this fall so far, real quick and really solid at speed. I think this is going to be a fun boat to run.

Looking foreward to spring, and the meeting of "Low Tech" and "Blingerized".

I talked to Cady Guy last week and the accumilation of parts and bling has commenced, we'll just have to wait and see what the program is going to be. I've got a line on a new super wax that is claimed to add 1-2mph, 3 or 4 coats should easily get me over 100 .

Not sure on the boaters weekend run, been colder than a witches t*t up here and I don't think any of the launches are not frozen over. It is inside a heated building and a viewing is a possibility, for those who might want to check out what they are up against next season.

Thumbs up 2008 35 600 Boat

The 600 boat we have runs about 106 which is very fast in a 35. The 35's run great to 100 then get a tad loose. We had the opportunity to run our 600 boat against a new 525 boat. Although the top speed is only a few miles different the 600 boat parks the 525 boat. If you hit both boats at 20mph the 600 boat will have the 525 boat by 10 boat lengths before you hit 85mph. The 600 boost maintains regardless of wether temp etc always maintaining 600HP while delivering it quickly with the supercharger. Here's a picture of our 600 boat that was retailed but customer did not take delivery. It is being repainted first week of jan 2008.

You sure you would be "hitting" it in either boat with bravos on there?
