very nice, great work

Very nice work...did you draw up the geometry and then put a cutter path on it?

Thanks guys. I do all my stuff at work, so doubt they would care for me making parts for others on their equipment. And pretty sure they wouldn't buy it if I said I had 20 batteries in my boat. :)

They look great. I have a buddy that owns a small machine shop and I keep telling he should stop being so busy so he can make me cool boat things but he is always slammed with work work. :-(

Finally got around to writing a program to engrave the logo.
I can either do the full logo, just 'FOUNTAIN' or just the circle. I'm going to have so much Fountain logo chit on my boat and dock, there will be no misunderstanding what brand I own. Might even try to tattoo the wifes azz. :evilb: The battery covers are my 1st finished project. I did go back over them with 2500 sand paper to remove the finger prints then cleared them after this pic was taken. I have 2" stand offs that are screwed to the battery top frames that these covers bolt too to clear the cables and battery post. The clear plexy was my 1st test run that had a couple goofs from my editing that I corrected in the final program. If you shine a light thru the outter edges, only the logo lights up. Going to make a frame with LEDS to light'r up. Circle only. Kinda hard to see with the brown background. Do you want to sell the vector file or EPS tiff..so I can make some stickers for my boat? I have a plotter . Chad |
vector, EPS tiff? I have no clue what that is.
I've been programing and running CNC mills, lathes and wire EDM machines since '84 and always do the programming at the machine using the user friendly programming. All just X, Y and Z cordinates in canned cycles, subroutines and such. Haven't used any CAD programming to actually draw up a profile then convert over to machining language in over 10 yrs, when I ran the wire EDM. Then it was I just knew what to do to get it done w/o knowing what it actually was that I was doing. If I had what would work for you, I'd just swap the program for a couple stickers. The mill saves the program as a .M file that I just copy and save as a text file to view it or modify as I wish. |

A clear picture would work too..like a jpeg .If we can't get it that's allright. Thanks for the reply..If we do get it ..I will make you some decals.Chad |
WOW! That looks so darn good! You are lucky to have this equipment at your disposal. Keep us posted on what else you make.
