IMO getting in the 90's is not that tough with a step and light layup - 800hp, 30 pitch right hand and 1:5:0 ratio was easy for me. However, getting past that takes alot.
I am sure that anyone will tell you when you get faster and faster you have to break the bank to even get 1 mph. I stopped at 90-95, because I do not have the nuts to go faster flat out. Its not a bad ride but you can definetly tell in a 27 that there is not any boat in the water.

BTW its for sale if anyone is interested. Amazing gas mileage.
Truley with the blower you dont have to run 100 on lakes, run up beside who you are racing jam it make some boost and walk the dog in front of the spectators, wammo you are faster.

Jim Valko has a 27 that he used to bring to LOTO for the shootout. When he had a blower on it, he was over 100. Took the blower off, and still running in the 90s. I just wouldn't want to be in the boat at that speed. He had done extensive engine work on his boat, as well as a different drive configuration.
I had a 27 with a 572, standard drive and only ran in the low 80s.

I had a pro charged H.P. 500, it would get in the mid 80's and scare the **** right out of me, I sold it, too much for me.
I would really have to see a 27 Fountain, that would run over a hundred with people in it, that's damn fast for that boat, and I would think more than a hand full.

i have watched the utube video 3 times.man i love the sound of a supercharger.nothing like the scream.plus the bold statement a supercharger makes hanging out the engine hatch or hood.

I have a co-worker who had a 27' Fever that ran 100mph (reguarly, with friends on board)...
..... How much power would this take and how stable is this hull at this speed?.... I asked him what power he was running and he told me "a big block" (sooooo i guess his numbers make sense?!)... Just curious what these speeds would entail with these hulls.... I have a measly 68 mph boat.....
