thinking of buying a 32 or 35 lightning, any advantages or disadvantages or power suggestion.

It all comes down to where and how you plan on using the boat. I have a 35 and love the boat good all around, a little small in some areas and a little large in others.

If you drive em both you will know the difference! If you don't go with at least the 500's you will get you a$$ handed too you! And that will really pi$$ you off!!

I have a 35 Lightning Classic (single step) and love the boat. It is perfect for lakes, like Havasu. It is ok for the ocean, but bigger would certainly be better when in the ocean. On the highway towing around the 35 is good, not too big to handle, but I would guess that a 42 would be a bit much to drag back and forth to the river.

Have owned both, a 2000 32 with 500 H.P.'s and a 2000 35 Lightning with 500 H.P.'s. As already stated, depends on where and what you want to do with them. The 32 was a nice boat rode ok, sits very low in the stern. When not on plane get a lot of vibration from exhaust trapped under the swim platform, running silent choice eliminates some of that, if the boat is equiped. 32 hasnt got a walk around, if you dont anchor or tie up at piers alot not a big deal, but getting on the deck is a pain in the butt, you have to climb over the windshield to get up on the deck. If you get in rough water, and jump the boat out of the water the 32 wants to land stern first because of the weight in the rear. The 35 is a better balanced boat. Flies level, a little more room in the cabin and cockpit, has a walk around, our 32 ran 83 mph, and the 35 ran 88. Dont know what the deals are or the money difference is, but I would go with the 35. Also the 35 has a little more room in the motor compartment to service things. If you ever have to change the sparkplugs on the motors in a 32, if you dont know some one very small that can get below the motors to do the inside plugs you can just about forget it.

Looked really hard at a 32, but glad I held out for a 35. Both are great boats, but I had a 27 and wanted twins, I like the aspect of being able to walk around.

Bigger is ALWAYS better....dont make the mistake and regret later. Let it stick out, let it be a little wide, let it be a little heavy. 99% of people that continue down the boating road get 3,5,7,10 foot'eye tis.

Probably the biggest advantage of buying the 35 over the 32 is that a hundred people a year will not be telling you that your boat is sinking

I went from a 27 checkmate to a 35 Fountain - had it for two years and wished that I had gone straight to the 38. IMO don't even consider the 32.

No question on the 35 over the 32, ...
...and ours is also for sale, too!!
