Spicing up the dash
I am about to tackle a dash project. I don't think it will be all that expensive, but I would like some opinions and suggestions. I've seen gauge rims that replace the white ones that came from the factory. What I would like to do is change the rim color and keep the red bezels. In addition I plan to put a throttle bezel on and move my hour meter to the dash (where the boost gauges are on a s.c. application). I need to get another gauge to balance the whole thing out. I'm looking for something useful, yet easy to install and configure. I was thinking about an engine knock meter or a drive temp gauge. What do you guys think?

Nisonger has everything you need. That or Candyman has a buddy named Wally that lives by Gaffrig that can get good deals also. If anyone needs a black triple dash with black gauges, I have one for sale. It will make your boat look at least ten years older, it will be a sweet upgrade!

Just to spark your imagination here's my dash. I replaced the white gauges with platinum faces (Can't really see it too good in this pic, I'll try and find another one) and red rims. Rims match dash pretty close. Chrome bezels. Note the drive temp gauges upper right. They were not available in platinum but look ok in white. Drive temp gauge would be good to have. You may get advanced warning of a drive problem before you have major problems.

I think a throttle bezel to match the yellow would look ok or paint the levers yellow and add a red bezel? I'm curious as to why the hour meter to the dash? Why not a drive temp gauge and a boost gauge? Course that means you have to add a blower too, but that would be Ok too!
The red dash looks sweet I think.
