Clarify HP & Drives
They're 650HP, sold this way from factory for many years. Drives are IMCO, not bravo one.

Thinking about buying this boat...any thoughts (good or bad!).

FAster with two than 3 but lost some acceleration and picked up better ride.
The boat ran 99MPH with triple Joe Griffin 650's. We took one motor out, re-rigged as stagger, changed drive ratio and props, now it runs 102MPH.

Some things look really nice about that boat:
Because it was a triple, it has a somewhat filled in notch, meaning a bit more buoyancy aft, so less "beaver tail slap." That all new dash, with a 'glass instead of aluminum panel, is worth a LOT of money. Nice not to have to deal with the corrosion around the switches, screws, instruments, ... Probably good stuff: New transom and stringers in the eingine compartment are probably a big advantage, if done properly. Looks well done. Bad stuff: Looks like it will have a LOT of trailer tongue weight, as the axles seem set aft for the weight of the third engine. Its a vacuflsh head, but where is the vacuum pump? Not aft-starboard like usual. |
