Fountain in business period.

Great boats and amazing legacy. Go on-line and look at their financials, current and quick ratios are not good. Futhermore, a real indicator is the Z score of the business which combines numerous financial ratios of the business... also not good. Fountain is like many businesses being affected from the economy. 2010 will be a recovery year, hopefully they can hang on.

All boat businesses are having a hard time, from manufacturer to dealers to Boating World.
The key to survival in business is very well known to Reggie, as he has weathered these kinds of bad economic times over and over.
He is focused. He has always been about high value and high quality. Those are the companies that usually stick around.
The products in the low quality at any price, or the high quality where you can't really show the value are the ones that take the most dramatic hits in these down markets. Sure, they do well when everything is booming, but when it turns around, quality and value survive.

From: west palm beach FL,
i dont think fountain will ever go out of buisness. even if they stop trading publicly . regie has his whole family in the biz,
so let's say he had to start over with a new name they would not be the first boat builder to do this just so they can get rid of bad dept and start with a clean slate . i would think they would just call it " fountain marine " or something like that instead of just fountain and everyone will still know the company and who is running it .
there are a lot of hater's out there that like to talk smack and put peaple down . i think it make's them feel good or something
know matter how much peaple talk smack about founatain you have to give mr founatin credit he has what most everyone on this board would have loved to do . lived and worked his dream . a guy like that will not give up easy that's why he build's some of the best race boat's out there .
my 2 cents

We all need to stop all the bad economy talk on OSO and keep positive. There's enough of that on CNN .It doesn't help any of us when they stir up fear based on unfounded rumors. That hurts all our businesses not just Fountain. Just stop it.
