This is what I found so far, timing less than 10* intake gaskets at coolant passages blown, 4 plug wires burned from previous exaust leak 8 fouled plugs, msd dist wires spade connectors( not sealed) corroded. dist cap all 9 terminals green and pitted so bad that they are flaking,

finished engine work last night, started less than 1 full turn, idles at 1k. also found 3 melted plugs, took bore scope and checked pistons OK, going to switch all connectors over to weather packs. will have blower intake surfaced and ready for winter rebuild.
