I need some advice on where the drives should be trimmed at 2007 42 lighting with 700sci and #6 drives when driving? Using the drvie indicator I only go from 6 to start out to 5.5 when on plane. Is this right? I know they don't need much trim any help would be great.

This should give you a starting point. Drives in and tabs all the way down to plane off. I get the most efficiency with the drives tucked all the way in until 3000 with the tabs at 2.5. Come out 1/2 click from 3000-4000 with the tabs at 3, 1 full click from 4000-4500 with the tabs at 2.5 and 1.5 clicks to wot with the tabs at 2.5. Pull the drives in a half point at wot if there is a cross wind.

You have to remember that the drive trim indicators are reversed on a #6 boat. Sounds like that may be your problem. BTW......I have been to Ogden, UT. Very nice up there in the mountains. Where in the heck to run a 42 like that? Sorry, I just had to ask.

You can also look at smart craft. They have a digital trim setting if you toggle through the pages. On our 38\700 and 6's shows on the mechanical gauge I dont trim too much over 6, but the smart craft will show 7.4 just a little bit more accurate than the mechanical gauge. They are not calibrated the same, so that can be confusing. Also..the trim on the throttle, up is up and down is down. The individual trim switches on the dash to make the drives go up you have to push what would be normally the down side of the switch.
