With 1/2 inch deeper lowers it would plane easy but he could not loose the 1-2 mph. Everyone here would laugh and joke about his 4500rpm burnouts trying to plane. Usually took minutes to get on plane. It broke a drive about every two weeks from the burnouts.

After lots of changes we decided to take the boat to bryan at Fountain for the rite set up. The boat was documented at the factory running 100. All high x Fountains cavitate to get on plane including my current boat with #6 drives. It does the same thing and it came from the factory that way. I am sure the man who owes this boat now would be glad to confirm the speeds also I think he would appriciate lose lips to stop attempting to depreciate his major investment.
Yes! the boat would break a drive after 60 or 70 hours of use as any boat with 700 HP plus and XR drives will (that is what spare drives are for).
If you want to sacrifice speed you can lower the x the boat was set up for top speed. This will cause slow planing just like a new 35 does but they run 100. When we bought this boat you had to put a lot more $ into a boat than you do today to reach triple digits so we decided to build a boat. Just as we finished the boat the 35 staggered came out. that is a few reasons why we bought the boat we have now.
We also have a copy of the sheet were Precision Marine set the motors up if anyone needs proof of the power. By the way I have a remote that went with the boat and would be glad to get it to the new owner
In closing I would like to say the world would be a better place if more people would focus on making changes in there own life and and stay out of everyone else's life

So I'm assuming after reading both of these posts that no amends have been made between the two of you. Evidently everyone that hangs out within our circle has to put up with another summer of drama. All that does is prevent everyone from having as much fun as we could if everyone just got along. Let it go guys. We're all adults here.

P.S. Who cares whose boat goes the fastest and costs the most. Our lake isn't big enough to be running much over 80-85 anyways. All that matters is that we all have the means of getting out there and having a good time. I have the slowest boat in the crew, and I have just as much fun if not more than any of you. Let's squash the BS and get ready for the warm weather.

Sorry! I wasn't up at 4 am this morning Lol to respond, but I think we need to cover that stuff on another thread.
Boomer35 ask specific questions about a boat that I personally did extensive testing to achieved a goal. They are only trying to keep from repeating the process
I think we need to return this mans thread back to him
I will be glad to start a new thread in Fountain so we can all discuss some Chattanooga Drama

What does what time I was up have anything to do with this? There's nothing to cover. Your old boat is fast. It's slow as hell coming out of the hole but midrange to top end is insane. End of story. The other stuff needs to be dropped and new thread deleted..

I am the owner of the 35 boomer was talking about. You are correct I would like to get 4or 5 mph with out going into the motors. Hopeing someone has gone down this road before. Can give me the pro and cons of different props shorties etc.
Thank you for your input. You did a hell of a job with that 35

We tried every possible x and prop you can think of on that boat and it is already at over 20 on the x any higher and you will break drives every 20 hours
The six blade 32 herrings were by far the best set up on that boat we tried 6 blade 31 and turned more RPM and it slowed down a little
The motors are high compression so don't do super chargers
I just changed the filters for the fuel and you are more than welcome to the stereo remote if you want it i also think I have a manual crank for the trailer jack if the motor goes out on you

I have a 2001 35 lightning with -2 shortie imcos on it. It will work and i do not have that 4500 rpm burnout others are talking about. I have 5 blade maximus that do have some tip cup (the more pictures i look at i believe they are mercury labbed). See special thanks to EB Marine thread for more info on my boat and if you have any questions i will be glad to answere them (just remember i am in the 4 wheeling and shooting rifle mode right know and do not check this sight this time of year a whole lot).

Allen your boat is clean as a brand new one. I know it planes easy and hauls azz (108 if I recall on the EB Marine thread). Eric sets them up perfect. If only Gerald could have let Eric touch his (Spend It)35 Fountain it would have broke 100 and plane normal.

I refuse to get into you and Geralds peeing match but I do think that what Gerald was able to do with his 35 was pretty remarkable for a natural aspirated motors (they do not have the torque of supercharged motors).
I do hate to hear that there is problems with the powerboating community in Chatt. and hope that you all get it worked out and have some more awsome poker runs.
