GF,
With your Whipple II upgrade, do you touch the rev limiter with the same props that came with your boat? or did the Whipple upgrade raise the rev limit?
BTW, if you don't mind me asking, exactly what did the Whipple II upgrade do for your 700's? just in case I decide to follow your lead.......
thanks,
Dean

Dean,
The Whipple Stage II kit raises the rev limiter to 6K RPM. Before the upgrade I was able to hit the stock rev limit. I boat on Lake Michigan and the conditions don't usually support high speed runs. I did one WOT run so far and hit 110MPH before I had to back down.
Got Freedom?

You want wow factor check out the '07 38 with 700's and six drives that came up on Shogrens site in the last few days. Check it out, the boat is awesome! You need to come over to the "Dark Side".
BTW, going to be very nippley up in Sevey's tonight!

Ragged, That 38 should be yours. Think you need the big drives for when we get together on the big pond. It is a very sweet set-up.

Dean, if you are going to build and are thinking about Whipple upgrades, have the factory upgrade your tranissions and let the factory dial it in. I heard they will ship boats with the upgrades installed.

When you go to Miami to the show and meet with Wyatt, to talk about the boat, if you are thinking about changing anything, Brian Forehand is the person at Fountain to deal with. He is the Race/High Performance director. Test drives all boats that run over 100 mph at the factory, and he makes all the suggestion, or changes to improve performance. He has always been helpful, sometimes very busy, good guy. Not sure if he is going to be at Miami or not. If you think he only has experience in the test applications on the Pamlico river, Brian, and Doc Jansen, were in the Saratoga Stampede boat at Key West this year. Wyatt knows the boats, but Brian is the one who dials them.

Good luck with your Fountain-purchase through Shogren. These days, dealers come and dealers go. When something goes really wrong with the boat (not that it does, but it can happen), you really need someone who can fix all problems at one and the same place. Then the best guys in the business is usually the cheapest and fastest to fix your boat. Go with the biggest dealer in US....
