The previous owner of my boat lost the Builder's Certification, so I asked Gail at Fountain, and she kindly sent me a copy.
Therefore, I wasn't surprised to see "COPY" stamped on both pages.
But I now got in contact with another Fountain owner (who owns the boat since new), and he also has a copy, not an original. Same goes for the Manufacturer's Statement of Origin.
So I am now wondering, is that the normal practice, or did you guys got the originals of these docs?

I think the answer here is that any "original" document is just that ...... the "original". Therefore any subsequent document would be a "copy" of the original. If you have ever dealt with legal doc's thru an attorney they almost always stamp copies as such. One attorney years ago explained it to me "there is only one original, everything after that is a copy".
