Default Removing Dash Plate??

Is it true that you can remove the entire gauge/dash cluster by simply unplugging plugs? Is there an actual wiring harness that allow wires to be disconnected under the dash? Oh and this is in a 96 35' Lightning.

All the wiring on my '99 just unplugged. Had several trailer type of plug connectors. Other than the shifter and indicator cables.

Are the plugs just bundled up under the dash? What was the easiest way to access them?

remove the side panel by your driverside bolster, is the easiest way to get to them.
