So you got me thinking and when I got gas this weekend I watched the gallons in each tank. Starboard front tank runs the center and starboard engine to fill it I put in 28 gallons. Port tank runs port engine only and it took 25 gallons. Both tanks were full before I went out last time. How does that work? I'm going to watch the gallons again next weekend when I fill it.

we had a 99 trip 42 with the same power and all 3 pulled from both tanks it is normal for one tank to take more gas .they should be connected

Did you have a total of four shut off valves for the tanks too?

42

Mine has 4 valves and the engines pull from all 4 tanks.

So you can run the three engines of any of the four tanks by shutting down three valves?

Fuel valves

Yes, That is correct.
