Pulling a 47

I'm picking up a 47 this weekend I have 1,400 miles to go round trip. I have a 06 2500 Chev. DuraMax with the Allison pulling around local should be ok but this trip north could be a little bit diffrent. Anyone pulling one of these or know someone who is and with what.

My 32 makes a 2500 wag much over 70..... That's a hell of a lot of boat to be moving w/ just a 2500.....

I think I would go rent a 1 ton truck or have it hauled.

Pulling a 47 with a 2500 isn't a bad idea, it is so much worse than a bad idea that simply calling it a bad idea will not suffice. :)

Also keep in mind that you could void your insurance pulling it with a truck that is under rated for the load. I dont know what a 2500 is rated for but thats a lot of boat . my 2ct

47 trailer

If you are using a tag trailer it will be tough to run safe over 50mph. The trailer will sway once and it may cause your truck to lose control of steering.
I use an F350 crew dually and moving to a 450 and I have a gooseneck. I tows extremely well. just need truck to be rated correctly.
DONT EVEN try to tow it without brakes!!!!! 9side note.... that since the rig is so heavy that the only brake controller for hyd/elec brakes that actually works without jerking the truck out from under you is the Brake Rite unit. Once the pendulum style units get jeked they go nuts!!)
Good luck and get a company to haul it if you can wait. I would NEVER try it with mine after traveling in all situations.

I wouldn't do it with a 3/4 ton. I pulled a 47 with trips with my 450 and it did great. I have pulled a 51 Outerlimits with trip 850's and the 450 pulled it really well. Definatley get a dually under it.

I pull my 47' with a f350 and it is scary pulling it over 70 mph.
