I get the feeling you may be insulting some owners with your tone. All this talk about what the new RF will be and talking down the original Fountain. Regarding your quality statement, why didn't you and your dad improve the quality of the product ( if needed) when you produced it ?

Uh, he isn't talking down Fountains at all, he is just stipulating RF will make improvements on their new boats over their older ones. Fountain did this every year on their own boats as do other boat companies. Last I checked Fountain made plenty of improvements over the years.
quality and improvements are two seperate issues. |

Fountain cuddy prices

I've talked with Brian Forehand a few times this week. The cuddy "restore" depends on what all you want to have done. They moved the stringers and bulkheads on newer models to accommodate for changes in the cuddies. It's almost better if you call the factory and get prices. It sounds like it can range from $7k - $20k depending on what you want done.
Brian sent me pictures of a 47 they are working on now. This boat was a deal, the new owner thought he did all the right things, survey, etc. It turned out the cuddy was rotten. They removed it all. The only thing that will not come out is the bathroom; the top deck has to be taken off for that. They moved it around in the cuddy to replace it all. |

Then with a clean slate they started over.
