I might add.. Just use the blue ones for now and buy another set to have done.. It could take a while. You can swicth them after the break in when you run the valves again

All of my engines are priced 100% complete and ready to drop in with engine mounts, bell housing and coupler, wiring harness and sending units, exhaust, etc. A lot of builders don't price their engines that way so sometimes it's not an accurate price comparison. With that being said, the exact price depends on exactly what you want. If we use a 3.3 Whipple, power will be limited to around a max of 1050. If we go with the 4.0 Liter, then it will be capable of well over 1200 hp. The price can run from $56,500-$63,500. The best way to go depends on not only the power you want now, but what you may want in the future. The variations in price are due to the blower used, heads, port work, etc. These prices are for a completely new engine. All parts are 100% new and the engine comes with a 6 month warranty.
The Seeley's do not fit into this catagory since they have quite a few existing parts. Their's will be no where near this much. Eddie |

Sorry dude but I've well exceeded my VOC limit for the day and I'm still not home.. :daz: |
You are definitely right. I don't want to mess up your pretty work. It killed me to run the covers on the Hustler engines on the dyno. I was a nervous wreck that they would get scratched. No one had the time to fix them.
I'll get with you on these covers when I get back in next week. I'm sure you will knock it out of the park once again. We got so many compliments on the Hustler covers. You should consider becoming a painter.:lolhit: See ya. Eddie |
Well since I'm coming to the sobering realization that I may never have a career in the NBA I'm keeping my options open, and yes considering painting as an alternative..
On a bit more serious note I'm glad you got your tail out of the shop for few days, but I'm guessing by the weekend she'll be ready to send you back anyways.. :bunnydance: Can't wait to get my hands dirty !! :cool-smiley-011::cool-smiley-011: |
Congratulations on being a class act in the marine industry Eddie. Guys like you are few and far between !

I have to agree that from this thread I would consider Eddie if I ever need an engine builder. Few builders are willing to post their prices like that. Many will play games. Just get this guy on the water. Spring has sprung early this year!!
We are doing our best to get them back on the water as quick as we can. Eddie |
It is great to be able to have people that are Good at what they do .. No matter what is costs. Just think how it would be if we did not have tallented people like Eddie

That hasn't happened nor will it if I have any say so. Don't even suggest it.:lolhit: |

Trust me...I have been down that road in the past...I know all to well. Bottom line...as is typical...you get what you pay for. I havent even run/seen Eddies motors yet. However, his professionalisim and customer service is miles ahead of what I was accustomed to with previous builders/shops. As a consumer that speaks volumes in this day and age. Even if they do blow up (which they probably will) the build has been a lot of fun. :lolhit:

Just got the camshafts in. We are putting them in now. I'm still waiting on the oil pans to button up the bottom end completely.
We are also working on the heads now as well. We have quite a bit of prep work to do to them before they are ready to assemble. I'll post some pics shortly. Again, thanks everyone for the kind words and votes of confidence. I am confident that the Seeley's will be happy with the end result. We won't rest until they are. Eddie |
So Eddie, any news?

Here we go. Sorry it took so long for the pics. NOt only are we extremely busy, but the last week has been filled with other madness.
Here are some pics of the billet aluminum "distributor". It houses the cam position sensor and drives the oil pump. The cam wheel is hard coated to prevent rust and is balanced. Eddie |

Here are some pics of the short block as the cam was being degreed.

One more for now. THis is a pic of the crank snout showing the double keys. Instead of the stock single 3/16" key, we now have (2)-1/4" keys. It should have been done like this in the beginning since it's driving a supercharger.
I will post more later of the heads, etc Eddie |

great pics . . . keep them coming ! We make them. I haven't seen a commercially available one so we just made our own. GM has a plastic one but.....it's plastic.:lolhit: It's not really a distributor. It takes it's place and works as a cam sensor and distributor drive. THe cam position sensor is used for the distributorless ignition. Eddie |
Nice . . . I don't mean to be asking too many questions, but . . . . What PCM are you using and what tuner software do you use?
How are you or what do you use to simulate the loads on the engine as if it's in the real world running conditions vs on an engine dyno or if it's already mounted in the boat? |

How are you or what do you use to simulate the loads on the engine as if it's in the real world running conditions vs on an engine dyno or if it's already mounted in the boat? I find it much better to tune the engine on the dyno. We can put it through every possible scenerio and load imaginable. I'll start at 2000 rpm with no load. We will maintain 2000 rpm as the load increases until we are at wot at 2000 rpm. That allows us to sweep all the way through the entire throttle range and check the tune. We will then go up about 200-300 rpm and do it again. We'll do that through the entire rpm range of the engine. That is something you can't do in the boat. Usually the only thing that changes from dyno to boat is idle,in and out of gear and throttle tip in. Those items are easily tweaked in the boat. When tuning in the boat, you can only tune where the boat can load the engine. You can't sweep like we do. That load can change day to day based on the amount of people, fuel, gear, etc. You could tune it one day under one condition and then it be off on another day under different conditions. Hope that helps explain it a little. Eddie |

A few more. This is a before and after of the timing cover. The timing cover now has the ribs milled out to clear the double roller timing chain. You can also see where the timing gear bolts were to large and hitting the cover.
The other is the 58x trigger wheel. We make these as well. Eddie |

Hey Eric, as we were going through all of the old nuts and bolts, we found the old motor mount hardware.:lolhit:
Wasn't sure if you wanted me to replace them with something a little more permanent? Sorry, couldn't resist.:drink: |
