My trim is stuck all the way in and when I hit the button I can hear it clicking but the motor does not work do I need a new motor or is there something else.

Go from the battery to purple or blue wire see if it goes up&down?use decent guage wire when jumping it out good luck selenoid or bad connection maybe?

Ok that worked got it to raise so its the seleniod then right but aren't there two of them and both go bad at the same time

These are the selenoids right

There are two solenoids but they don't both always go bad at the same time but since they are cheap I always change all of them, Trim pumps and Drives as well. Get them at

probably a bad fuse, I had the same problem with mine last year. it would work when I jumped it too. I had to replace an inline fuse since the boat was a 1991 with no reset. hope that helps.

It's 3 extra nuts to R&R the 2nd solenoid. I recommend replacing the 2nd one as well.

Right on guys thanks got them ordered hope it works.:drink:

I may be a tad late here, but I went through the same thing with mine (38 Fever). My mechanics jumped in there, told me to "exercise the trim pumps"- i.e., work the switch up down, etc. in rapid succession ... and they now work like champs. Ozone is apparently the culprit- building up o the solenoids, then they sit over time and cannot make the circuit
HOWEVER ... never can beat new! |
you can get the solenoids from Napa. their part number is
