Great thread.

So how fast is it now? With how many horses? Should be great to see a really fast 47. Good luck with your new Real Fast rocket ship!

So, you're saying Fountain built 47' hulls with bottoms that are bad in your words ?
and
By saying how bad that implies there are varations in the hulls built, why ?

it has run a best of 101 mph at 5900 rpm with 3 x800 hp supercharged mercury/mrd motors .i have raised the x dimension a total of 3 inches and have gained nothing .now going up another 4 1/2 in .if this don't do it nothing will. it is easy to make a small boat go real fast but the challenge is to make a big boat go real fast and look good doing. it.

What Reggie probably meant was that after years of use, sitting on a trailer, lift, etc., the bottom gradually develops hooks and other deformities that rob speed and otherwise hinder performance and handling. How bad the bottom is depends on how much damage was done over the years. If the trailer or lift fit the boat well, the bottom will not be as bad as a boat that was sitting on a poorly fitting trailer.

my bottom was blue printed and threre wasn't much wrong with it other than some scratches and some gouges .i will be lucky if it gets me one mph .its a 97 and it sits on a trailer most of its life not a myco either. in most cases blue printing is a waste of money.no offense..

Of course, but there's more than that.
A hull which comes out of a mould on day X is different from the previous one of day Y, and also from the next of day Z. Even if they're all built with the same mould, of course.
In fact, I don't see why Interceptor seems to be surprised to hear that, as if it would be a peculiarity of Fountain...

I guess when someone pays well over a quarter million for a new boat I'd expect a degree of uniformity in the hull. I thought that went into a Fountain since they talk about each hull being assembled and tested individually.
I also understand that the hull could possibly change some over time due to rack, lift or trailer storage.
