Default 27 or 29 FEVER

Hi Guys, I am thinking about buying a used fever, at present I own a 25 Checkmate and was wondering If you guys could tell me how the 27 fever compares to it. I know it is 2 feet bigger but with the stepped bottom and the long nose how much boat is there in the water. I do run the ocean once in awhile, on flat days. I have been caught out there with the checkmate in some pretty nasty water and the boat really handled it well.I was wondering how the 27 would do? Boat for boat I belive the Fountain is faster but what will I be giving up?

this topic has been beat to death.....numerous times. I suggest a search to find your answer. No negativity here, just facts.

Sorry but I have no knowledge of your Checkmate boat. I can tell you that I would not want to be out in really big water in my 29' Fever. Just my opinion.

I've owned a 27 and drove a 29 there is a big difference. The 29 is faster with the same power and a much bigger. You can't go wrong with a 29 fever 525 xr it's hard to beat in the single engine world

Both the boats drive well and run flat. The 27 is kind of a dog out of the hole with 496 power. The 29 runs mid 70s all day long with the 525 and has a better balance feel to it. Plus, the cockpit space is much better in the 29
