[QUOTE=Young Performance;3639762]I'm no expert but it looks to me like it needs more power.

Don't we all. I'm thinking the next engines will be 1000HP.................MTU's
65' Ocean Alexander
Someday!

Currently I'm working on a 16' Beezer w/650HP
It's more HP per foot than I have now. Does that count?

ps. I hope you are running a small block. Those 16 footers are REALLY scarey! This comming from a guy that owned the worlds lightest Revenge layup. ( 390 lbs, 1575 lbs complete boat wet weight) PFAFF 468 Crower mech injection.

The boat has a capsule, cage and harness. I start racing SS and PS next month. There's a 1200HP motor available if I want/dare to go up to K Class. I've NEVER driven a small boat. This should be interesting.
The team is Tribal Thunder Racing. Charlie Marquard is my driving instructor and Brian Wehrer is the builder so I'm told I'm in good hands.

Sure, this is off topic (of SCX-4), but it may be a bit before I get wet again. I woke up this morning with 4+" of snow at home.

K bezer =Bad f'ing Idea ! Charlie is one of the best. Do Multiple ! Scuba courses. It will save your life. Strap in tight and be ready to countersteer chine at all times ! My dad won the Nationals in 1981 as well as a lot of other championships in his career. He say's must have a roll bar ! He also ran a blown chrysler (rare) k boat called Dago Red... finishhed second to Woods at last outing ( beat him1 of theheats).
Anyway my friend Ryan Butler just died in a capsuled Jones... You should save your money and get the hell away from racing flatbottoms. Somebody dies every f%ng month!

ps. flat bottom racers are amongst the best people in the world it is just buy miracle that some of them are still alive. magna flex your rider every month and make sure that your steering cables are so tight you can't turn the rudder with steering wheel moving. if you lose the steering it's going over in hopefully without the deck peeling back.

It is a caged boat and I SCUBA once a week. Hopefully I won't need any of it. This is Charlie's first boat, "Wizard", with a capsule added. He won't fit in it, hence I get to. Don't let my fiance' see your comments. lol
I know nothing about this new adventure. All I can do is get in and see what happens. I hope to be decent at it and that it's fun, not scary like, "is my drive gonna break?"

I'm telling her you said that. I won't show her your photoshopping though.
Nice boat too!

7" snow today at home. Sun a minute ago. Now it's hailing like crazy. Ever been boating in hail? I did it once in my Mirage without a windshield. Suuuuucked!

yeah, my fiance" at the time, (married now), didn't have too many good feeling about that boat . lol.!!

Just think how cold the water would be if you went over w o a wet suit and had to sit in a capsule... The next race Charlie is going to is in 2 weeks... here by my house. Puddingstone. My buddy Gordy puts that race on.. Puddingstone is 85' deep and black as coal. One of the 2 divers in the crash boat ( the other diver will not dive that lake) said If the boat blew apart enough and sank ,, it would take 45 min to get to it. And he would not be able to see.. Just feel where the air bubbles are coming from ..KNOW the lake you race at! Anyway, I have boated w a snow bank on my boat.. A couple shots of bacardi made me just warm enough .. lol!!
