they are all like that ! I could not believe it, and still can't as of today... apparently it's made that way, so if they have a boat made, let's say in 2010, but only sells in... 2012, they then put a 2012 serial number....
If only we could do that on left over new vehicules !!! LOL!!!

The first one i came across like that, i was considering buying and walked away cause i felt it was "shady" since every boat i seen to that point had them molded into the glass....the second one i saw like that was just out of repair and happened to have some glass work on the back corner so i figured it may have been done like that during repair...then the 3rd one i came across it just seemed weird that 3 in a row were like that so i figured they must be doing it at the factory. Still kinda weird since i thought the Coasties require it molded in but im probably wrong on that since they have been doing it for a while...

Fountain has always hand engraved their HIN numbers in the back of the transom. Looks like a little kid did it or something and I was skeptical on my first one but I know it's normal and "their signature" now.
