Bottom is " cherry-bra" really nice, strait and the same ( both sides).
Drive = about an inch lower than other side. Engine and drive need up 1 inch. Or else I need a -3 shorty and I think they only make those for outboards.
(The trim would be fine because the only crucial trim is at WOT. approx 4 on my boat is level w bottom.,. The rest of the speeds It's a bandaid anyway.)

Any thoughts are appreciated.

Chad

Did Fountain say they did that intentionally?
Yard the engine and drive. Maybe you'll only need to modify the hole instead of a total reglass and start over. Of course, fill in what's not used.
Are we there yet?

Fountain said they are not sure who has worked on the boat since it left their shop in 2004. They would like to look at it but 10 grand to get it there and back is holding me back. I get new props today

Imco makes a -3 shortie - bolts right to an imco upper but it requires a bit of work on the cav plate to make it fit a Merc XR - but a lot less work than moving an engine.

Maybe you could fly one of the Fountains' out to "look at" your boat for a lot cheaper than 10K. Plane ticket + expenses for 1-2 days should be much less than 10K ... just a thought. I'm sure they have some marina/custom shop contacts on the West Coast

Chad your tail pipes on that side must be lower also ? if so in 1 weekend you could gut that side , do the glass work and have it back together , done . Sometimes I spend more time thinking to much about the project than actually doing it , just dive in head first and fix it we know its not supposed to be that way and its not going to fix itself !!!
