I have a 95 29 Twin...454 Mags. They have had a little work done, but mostly stock. They burn 54GPH at WOT. I really dont run it WOT much and it cruises at 60-65MPH. My fuel bill last year was about $1300 for the season. We ran 2 poker runs and lots of beach weekends.

I really never broke it down on a weekend basis. I have personally found it is better to fill up when we need gas than to $100-$200 dollar myself to death. Just cruising around I am turning 2400-2800 RMP. We are on a lake...big lake, still a lake and this boat is more than enough to handle anything that gets thrown at it.
If I broke it down on a weekend basis I would guess it cost $75-$100 per NORMAL weekend. The boat spends a lot of time on the beach for a normal weekend. Poker Runs of course use a lot more fuel.

On stock 454's your top speed is going to be around 70 maybe 73ish. 65 isnt really a cruise speed, more like 45-55mph. My twin 29 I cant really give you numbers but I just put usually 100-200 bucks in it every time I go out, like to keep it about 1/2 3/4 full as more gas you put in here just means more weight to push will mpg. I usually take the boat out drive around for 30 to an hour and park then on way in ride for another 1 or so. BY doing that I can probably use only half a tank. At wot you should see around 60gph from what I have seen, but really to drive at wot for hours on end means two things gas guzzling and wearing out of equipment faster.
People will tell you a 29 twin is better than a 27 but in reality your getting two feet and one more engine. Everybody always says bigger is better, which is true but bigger means more cost. With a 27 your gas tank is only going to be around 60-70 gallons. Yes two engines to push a boat will use more fuel, but a 27 really isnt that much lighter and your pushing with one which will work harder. So GPH I wouldn think is quite double. Twins means double everything.
