Quick help
I have a 98 27 fever with 502 under the engin hatch hooked to the back of the seat is a bottle of what i can tell hydroalc fluid one hose off the bottom of it to a pump i would say for stearing or trim tabs it looks a little pinkish insted of red if its hydrolic oil should be red? I called my dealer and he said its common and not to worry pink would mean water i would say? boat is fairly new to me iv never had hydrolic steering what u guys think thanks for ur help.

One hose going out bottom to belt driven pump on engine = hydraulic steering reservior. You should also see a small aluminum cylinder, usually either anodized blue or red, mounted that bulkhead that has one hose going in the top and one hose going out the bottom = hydraulic steering fluid filter (inside the aluminum cylinder).

Ya its the steering res im just qustioning the color looks like pepto bismald not quite as pink and i looked tonight and it says atf on it should i change it?

flush it out... check your p/s cooler and steering rams for leaking. its pink cus transsmission fluid is red and its getting water in it. your cooler is on the return side so water pressure is probably causing water to enter your system through your cooler since the return side of your steering system has less pressure than the 20-30 psi water pressure you have.. might want to start there first
