some 32 questions

Hey guys,,

took out the 32 yesterday for the first time and I thought it gave a great ride and a very solid ride as well..

I was wondering on the port side there are 2 hull drains,,I know one has to be for the cabin sink,,whats the one right next to it for??

inside the cabin the step by the door,,where does that drain??

want to change the steering wheel,,will a regular wheel from Livorsi bolt right up or do I have to get a different hub??

Thanks..

tim brown 09-04-2012 10:52 AM

does it have a built in cooler ? maybe the drain for it . I put one for the cooler on my 29 fever because it did drain in to the sink drain line , but the drain line would hold water and it would stink . Tim

Wildman_grafix 09-04-2012 01:31 PM

The other is for the bilge pump that is under the step.

Mine are under the rear bench, subs are mounted down by your feet of the front bolsters. I have seen them mounted in the Lil closet to the right in the cuddy....

Mine is under the cooler or better were the cooler was.

My factory amp was under sink against wall to left of cooler.

When I replaced all the stereo, I mounted 2 amps up inside the rear seat back. Outta sight of prying eyes.
Took some time to make mounts, but work great when done.

Just updated the entire sound system in my 29. I used two Alpine Marine Amps...one for the subs and One for the 6X9's and JL Audio Component Speakers. The GREAT thing about the alpine marine amps is that they are small and stackable but still deliver GREAT performance. I mounted them on a piece of plywood and was able to slide them in front of the sink in the cabinet of the cuddy.

I experimented with this with under the cooler I couldnt get it to work. Then mounted under back seat. Come to find out if your going to do the cooler your going to probably need a 0 Gauge ground wire think I was using a 4 or 6 and it wouldnt work. Needless to say in the middle of the project I wasnt going to take the time and money to go find some wire so it went under the seat.

You need like 2 ohms going to that ground or work.

no its not,,i purred r/v antifreeze in the cooler and did not drain out of there..

US1 Fountain 10-01-2012 01:33 PM

The large thru hull is the sink drain. the other is for the bilge pump inside the cabin step.
The cooler just drains into the hull. Pizz poor design!

thanks,,kind of what I thought..I think Iam going to connect the cooler to the sink drain..

US1 Fountain 10-01-2012 03:53 PM

I don't think the cooler will fully drain if you do so. Maybe just enough that a sponge or towel will pick up. To close to call. I thought of doing so too when I 1st bought my boat.

Thanks for clearing that up US1,,,,,,,,,

My cooler used to be connected to the sink, it won't drian all the way and if you ever use the sink a little will go into the cooler.

I took mine out, not like it is a very good cooler anyway.

Talking to yourself again I see. :)
Yep, that cooler location is a perfect spot for, oh, an AC unit! :D

so who has a picture of a sun pad with the Fountain logo and the 32 in the middle they can post???

klalonde 10-03-2012 02:50 AM

After having five fountains this cooler will leak into the step and get the carpet wet. I used to put a small valve at the end of the drain tube and aother pain draining after use. The cooler has no real insulation pretty much useless. If you leave anthing in there and forget about it and go out hit some big water you will crack the cooler. Last boat I cut it out and put this cooler in :

http://www.amazon.com/Engel-UC19-Qua...9+quart+cooler

Fits perfect and you can remove it. I built a base to give an inch or so.

Ken

Did they say that the head rest would be included or not?

boatnt 10-15-2012 10:21 AM

so how do you guys winterize your 32s???

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vbyJ1eX0VQY

I was thinking of using this method,I was going to remove the water pump elbow hose and get a lot of the water out of the blocks, and letting it run for about 10 minutes on the ear muffs so the thermostats open up and let the antifreeze circulate and keep checking the strength of the antifreeze as it drains back in the bucket/pool ,any reason not too??

the drain plugs are a pain to get to as we all know..

I've always just got an asump pump hooked it to some muffs & a cut a poly 55 gallon drum in half filled it up & let pump & impeller pull it all thru the engine & drive... Never had a problem.

ALL_IN! 10-16-2012 09:37 AM

I ordered sunpad vinyl and foam for my 27. Tony and I talked about headrest or not. I said no need. But, I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived with headrest vinyl and headrest foam.

Did you order your sunpad from Fountain?? If so your talking about the head rest in the front of the sun pad or the head rest on your bolsters?? I know Im waiting for mine to be delivered now but I paid almost 600 extra for the foam to redo my head rest on the front of the sun pad. So what di you pay for your sun pad altogether??

Yes, headrest section and sunpad and foam for both. The foam was about as much as the vinyl if remember correctly.

added some vent grilles in the back of the 32 that I got from Fountain...

ALL_IN! 10-18-2012 10:19 AM

I like those. Probably helps/slows the water from entering too. What was the damage?

Looks good, can you post some more pictures of your interior as well as the contact info for who you ordered from at fountain (trying to get some ideas). I'm hoping to order my interior within the next month or so. Mine is a little stripped right now...
