27 Fever info
#1
I just sold my 23 Checkmate tonight and will be looking at some 27 Fevers as a replacement. I know 95 and newer have steps, anything else I should be aware of or watch out for? I can't go up to the 29 due to some storage constraints, but the 27 should work for me.
Thanks in advance for your input.

Search for a topic titled the same as yours by me. I asked alot of questions before I bought my 27. I love the boat.

Heres a link to the pics of my 27. The picture quality is terrible because they are captures from a digital video camera.

Thanks for the info RJ, nice looking boat. I'm getting close to a deal on a 97 Fever, 502 mag with procharger 4 lbs boost. I was pretty impressed with the ride and awesome midrange kick. Sold my Checkmate and need to get back on the water quick.
If I work this out I'll need a full boat cover anyone have a source? This one only has the cockpit cover.

The 27s are awesome boats. I do not know how new and what options you are looking for but check out the classifieds section. I have a 2002 496 Mag H.O. listed for sale in there. It is not procharged or anything but it is an imaculate boat with a 5 yr transferable warranty for worry free operation. Good luck in your search. You won't go wrong with a Fountain.

Just a quick question about the 97 with the procharger: what prop is that boat running and did it chinewalk when you were at 78mph? My 1996 27 Fever with HP500 starts to "dance" right at 73 mph (gps). I'm running a hydro Q4 26P that has been tweaked by hydro a few times to get the rpm's right. My friend has a 98 27 Fever with a blown HP500 (B&M250) running conservative boost and his starts to dance at about 76 mph (gps) running a 28 Bravo 1. At 78 mph (gps) on his boat it was really scary with that prop! With an older style Mach sterndriver (looked alot like a hydro Q4) 26P he could run about the same speed without the "dancing" but was at the rev limiter. With a 26P Q4 his still started to dance, but not as bad as it did with the Bravo 1. My boat will run right at 74 mph (gps) with the 26P Mach - the "Reggie Report" for my boat said he got 75.1 mph with the 26 Mach, but I haven't seen that on the gps (yet). Speedo reads 2 mph high, consistently, with the drive between 4 and 6 on the indicator.
Have fun!

Not trying to derail your current deal on a 27 fountain, but I have mine for sale as well. It's a 1996 with a 502 EFI and B&M supercharger. Less than 100 hours. It's listed on the offshore only classifieds. I can send pictures if you're intrested??
