Yup, bolsters first through that little hole
I cut the frot of mine down when I had the interior redone, and the screw and light holes filled and matched. The front section serve no purpose IMO. I stopped just a few inches after the opening in the boat, now they come out with the bolsters in.
Leave the bolster leg screwed to the floor and unbolt the seat from the leg, the leg is lag bolted to the floor, best to leave alone.

I was able to work myself pretty far into that hole, once you get I there, lots of room. The lower nuts can be taken off with a small electric impact to save time, the top ones rachet wrench
